The 60s


Brendan Worsfold ’63 retired from teaching science at St. Enda’s High School in Limerick, Ireland. He taught in the school for 16 years. Before that, he was a curriculum development officer for the European Union. Brendan began his teaching career in the Pleasantville School District.

Jim Wakemen ’65 won two of three events and the coveted Challenge title in the United States Road Rally Challenge championships in Pittsburgh. This meant he was the first-place driver in the Northeast Sports Car Club of America championship, his second successive crown.

Kay Aspell ’66 retired as the literacy arts teacher and drama club advisor at Middle Township Middle School. She had worked at the school for 18 years. During her tenure, she built up the drama club from 17 members its first year to having a production involving more than 156 people. She has two children and four grandchildren. She looks forward to traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Edward Armato ’68 was named Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of special education administration. He is the chief administrator for Creative Achievement Academy in Vineland.

Dennis Levinson ’68
has been elected to his third term as Atlantic County executive.

Evelyn Cordero Mahoney ’68 retired in July from the Pennsauken School District after 28 years as an elementary school teacher. She has two children. Both are teachers and both married within the past year.

Robert Day ’69 was inducted into the Haddonfield Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He taught for 34 years and is retired along with his wife, Carol Roos Day ’69, who also taught for 34 years. They have two children.

Carol Montemore ’69 retired in the spring of 2007 after 38 years at South Harrison Elementary School, teaching mostly first and second graders. She and her husband, Mark, have two sons, Eugene and Christopher.
